The Oroville Orcas Swim Team is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide swimmers, ages 4 to 18, coaching and training for competitive swimming. The Orcas are the only youth swimming organization serving the Oroville area. Orcas swimmers compete in the Sierra Nevada Swim League with over 40 other swim clubs.
Swimming is a great family oriented sport. It is unique in that it is both an individual and team sport. Swimmers are always challenging themselves to beat their best times and they can also score points for their team by placing in their age group. They practice 4-5 days a week and compete on weekends from May to August. Swimming provides our youth with a healthy activity during those hot summer months and develops individual skills, self-confidence and team work
We partner with the Feather River Parks District and will continue to use Nelson pool as our home pool. During the regular swim season the Orcas will host four dual meets with surrounding area swim teams where it is common to have 200 or more swimmers, parents and spectators in attendance.
The team has three sources of income to cover costs: fees, fundraisers and sponsorships. This year the team’s expenses include pool rental, head coach, addition of an assistant coach, awards, etc. In order to keep the fees as low as possible we are reaching out to the community for help. Your sponsorship will help make this wonderful sport more accessible to the children of our community and at the same time offer the sponsor advertising to local families through our organization.
The sponsor recognition year begins in May and last throughout the summer swim season. Please feel free to contact us to discuss our organization, our team and our sponsorship program or visit our website at: Orovilleorcas.com.
